Ofcourse... I had to try them out myself.. Those gems that pop up on the internet everywhere. I love them!

Renaissance style marasu
I fell in love with the beauty of the renaissance style tiles. It really adds a lot more elegance to the patterns to be able to use both lighter and darker colors without getting a very colorful result.
You might have noticed already that I don't use the original Zentangle tiles. I would love to, but they are way to expensive for me..and I haven't seen them in shops in my area yet. I simply buy cheap cardstock, which I cut in the size of a Zentangle tile, because I love this size.
The patterns marasu, nymph and featherfall on this paper came out a little dark, but I like the 'antique' feel this color combination gives.

Composition with official patterns
Here I've been combining three official patterns into a small composition.
Knase, drupe, chartz. Especially chartz seems like a pattern that I will be going to use a lot in the future. I love the different options in drawing and shading. This pattern would be great for zendalas. O man, I have to grab my pens and paper again...

Paisley bird
What I love about zentangle is all the possibilities it offers. There are so many different styles to explore. My brain is overloaded with ideas and things I want to try. I love never running out of inspiration, thanks to all the beautiful blogs about zentangle, and all the great tanglebooks that are available.
This bird is decorated with tangles in the style of Sandy Steen Bartholomew, I love her books!
They are so different and encourage you to tangle freely.

Lost my string
Recently I've purchased Beate Winklers 'Grosse Zentangle-Buch' (The big book of Zentangle)
It contains a lot of beautiful patterns to play with...so I did.
I enjoyed drawing these patterns, because they gave me a lot of freedom, especially because I didn't use any string at all.
I like the flowy look these patterns give today's tile.
Patterns I used:
Featherfall (not in Beate's book, by the way, but I think it works on this tile)
Sanibelle (sort of ;-) )
Puffle
Sharalarelli
Aura-Leah
Love them all..
I ordered Beate's new book, really looking forward to it, I hope to discover a lot of new patterns to play with in the future.

Turn the tile
Today I practiced a few more official tangles.
I like the possibility to turn the tile afterwards, to figure out from which angle the combination of patterns works best. And it always surpirises me how different a tile looks like if it's turned to another direction.
Today I chose this side.
Tangles I used for this tile:
Ahh, Eke, Florz, Bunzo, Gneiss

New friends
She tangles... And she loves to see tangles.
All those beautiful blogs out there... I can't get enough of them.
So here I am. Tangling, drawing mandalas, painting, loving, being a mom and wife, enjoying life.
Tangling is my way to focus, stop overthinking, not worrying about what to draw and whether it's okay or not. Just loving to see the result of drawing some lines, combining patterns and bringing the drawing to life by adding some shading.
This very first post is a combination of official tanglepatterns that I've never used before.
Munchin, rixties, ixorus, onamato, umble and yincut. Today I made some new friends.
